SOLD OUT: Panama – Creativa #21 Natural
$23.25 – $111.00
Panamanian coffee needs no introduction. This selection is both sugary sweet and layered in complexity–two competing characteristics in coffee roasting. It’s nice when you get your cake and you get to eat it! Creativa #21 coats the palate and tongue with a syrupy body and pervasive black cherry note that appeals to the most traditional drinkers. Yet lying underneath & increasingly unveiled in the finish is effervescent watermelon candy. In between the two: juicy orange that morphs into toasted sugar and lemon, like some fancy cocktail in a big city.
This special lot was grown by Lourdes Yanguez and processed by the Creativa Coffee District. Lourdes was born and raised on a coffee farm and continues the family tradition after inheriting La Llorona, a fifty-year-old farm of one hundred hectares in Renacimiento. In addition to 80,000 Catuai and Caturra coffee trees, La Llorona grows fruits, vegetables, and cattle. The main harvest goes from December to February. Once the coffee cherries are collected they are immediately taken to Creativa’s wet mill, where they were dried and processed.
