SOLD OUT: Thailand – Pitsuwan: Doi Pangkhon
$20.25 – $93.00
This coffee takes the best of two worlds and combines them in one cup. This naturally processed Thai coffee tastes much like a blend of natural African and natural Central American coffees, but with the clarity of a single origin. Upon first sip, we’re greeted with a light berry sweetness followed by a raspberry cheesecake note. Then comes the caramel drizzle! A full bodied coffee, it lingers with a chocolate-covered raisin sweetness that makes you eager for another sip.
Doi Pangkhon is a village in Chiang Rai which has 300 households, each typically producing about 1-2 tons of parchment (dried coffee). This is a natural processed micro lot. The cherries were laid on bamboo raised beds in a one-inch layer. The lot was continually sorted during the drying process and the cherries were raked multiple times each day. After the cherries were dried, they were bagged to cure for two months before milling at our dry mill. All of the villagers belong to Akha Hilltribe and they are very young for coffee farmers, typically 25-35 years old.
